La Bella Figura 

La Bella Figura is a photographic project that explores the lives of young people in the Southern Italian city of Bari. Through this long-term study of youth culture and interpersonal behavior, the project focuses on their search for identity and how status, tradition, and image shape their lives. The project examines the tension between group identity and individualism, where clothing and self-representation play a central role. With an immersive approach, a deep connection is made within the community, gaining trust and blending into the local culture. La Bella Figura also reflects the interaction between traditional family values and societal change. The project began with following the Dragone family, which resulted in the 2019 photo book. The concept of La Bella Figura—literally "the beautiful figure"—captures the importance of appearance and social conduct in everyday Italian life.
